Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Gatherly (we, us) operates the Gatherly event platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website and related services. We process data to provide the product, improve the experience, and meet legal obligations in Canada and the United States where applicable.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Gatherly, we may collect:
- Account details such as name, email, and profile photo
- Event activity: events you create, join, book, or host
- Payment-related metadata processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- Technical data such as cookies, device type, and approximate location for city features
3. How we use information
We use personal information to run accounts, list and recommend events, process payments, send transactional and optional product messages, prevent abuse, and analyse product usage in aggregate form.
4. Cookies
We use cookies to remember your city preference, keep you signed in, and improve the service. You can clear cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them.
5. Sharing and retention
We share data with service providers (hosting, email, payments, analytics) under contract. We do not sell personal information. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
7. Optional gender and year of birth
You may optionally add a gender and a year of birth to your profile. These are gathering attributes for relevance, not a people directory. Gender is never used to set a ticket price. Non-binary and self-described gender are stored only with your explicit consent. Visibility on your public profile is off by default. We do not verify gender. You can change or delete these fields at any time; deleting your account removes them.
6. Your rights and contact
Depending on your location you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. Contact us at privacy@gatherly.app
